Online Masterclass: Wage Negotiation

One of the most common questions from new graduates having received their first job offer is “should I negotiate my pay”. For many already in work, the thought of asking for a raise immediately starts the adrenaline flowing which can lead to a poor approach or worse, a combative atmosphere from the start. Similarly, competent new line managers can immediately feel completely out of their depth if and when one of their employees asks for a wage increase.

Wage negotiation doesn’t need to be a combative experience and regardless of your role in the negotiation itself, there are common elements, options and pitfalls to be considered to achieve a mutually agreeable solution.
