The ACC in a nutshell

The ACC was founded in 1996 and has offered training programmes in the field of coaching and counselling ever since. We aim to help people discover and develop their talents, so they can use them to guide others in their process. Our mission is to bring awareness into the world: awareness in people about who they are and what their goal is, to live their lives in a fulfilled and happy manner. We then teach them to guide others to discover the same and live their lives accordingly. For more information about us, please visit our website www.counselling.nl.

About the workshops:

Solution-focused coaching – Arjan van Dijk

Do you want to work with your clients in a more positive way? Help them discover their own possibilities, wishes and talents? Do you want to stimulate and challenge your clients while maintaining a safe and empathic coaching relationship?

Solution-focused coaching offers you all the insights and tools for this. The solution-focused method originates from positive psychology; a movement that discovered that removing problems does not automatically lead to more happiness in life. Happiness is the result of self-examination and dedicated practice.

This workshop will let you experience ways to work towards more happiness … Who knows what you will discover!

Arjan van Dijk has been a teacher for the ACC for many years. This year, he will be teaching our full English classroom programme, both first and second year. If you would like to meet Arjan and experience his teaching style, this is the perfect opportunity!

Provocative coaching – Karen Walthuis

Do you ever feel drained after a working day? Do other people’s problems weigh on your shoulders like a heavy burden? Do you sometimes just want to say exactly what you think, but you don’t do it because it is not professional? Do you feel that there is a joker or a rebel inside of you, but do you feel that society prevents you from letting it show? Would you like to use your intuition, humour and playfulness a bit more? Or are you just ready for something new?

All great reasons to participate in the Provocative Coaching workshop.

The great thing about Provocative Coaching is that it is actually ‘nothing’. Founder Frank Farrelly “just did something”, and that’s what he taught his students to do: just do whatever comes up. Be in full contact with your client and their question and let the joker inside of you do the rest. Let your professional politeness and attitude go and just do whatever comes up. It sounds easy, but it requires a lot of self-knowledge and especially self-liberation. Free yourself from the little voices inside your head that say you shouldn’t or can’t do that, that you have to be nice and civilized. During the workshop we talk out loud and investigate what can happen. And we practice with all kinds of paradoxical and unconventional interventions. Drama, humour, challenge, fantasy and intuition … those are the main ingredients of this workshop.
